It's been my job to keep tabs on all things technology for the past several years as CIO for the Society of American Florists and to contribute new ideas in round table discussion at SAF's Technology Committee meetings. During this time, I've accumlated a list of Web sites I review via RSS and like to share a trend I've noticed. Consumers and uber geeks represent opposite ends of a spectrum that drive technology. Within the spectrum falls everything else such as all size of businesses, Non-profit org, government IT, etc.

Source: PC WORLD - I found this little gem on digg and immediately gave it my vote as it confirmed several tech life "habits" I've adopted plus many more I have not that you can quickly employ to save me time and effort.
Some tidbits in the article I use and highly recommend are setting up remote control of your office machine from home, watching television via Net or using a Slingbox, consolidating e-mail addresses into one account (using gmail) and using a digicam as your visual memory (to remember a parking spot, a great meal, low product price, etc). |

Source: MIT TECHNOLOGY REVIEW - It's hard to argue having solid technology guidance is critical in successfully guiding any organization in the Internet age. As this article from MIT's Technology Review proposes, the same principle applies to countries, in particular, the U.S. The article, written by Kate Green, makes a great point on how despite being the country which created broadband technologies, the U.S. lies in the middle of the pack among nations in adoption. It also makes a compelling case that only through a solid technology policy can America spur innovation to remain a viable player on the World stage.
